It's My Park Day! Sunset Park

Just wanted to share some information. Back in 2009, a small group of residence came together to do something about the obscene amount of trash that accumulated in the park. They came out every weekend to pick up trash and soon earned notability in the area. Today, residence and community groups from Sunset Park still come together to help keep the park clean of trash.

What I saw in Sunset Park: D Train Station Cleaning

-> When I went for a bike ride in the area, I noticed this station was being cleaned. This gentlemen was nice enough to share his progress. Just before shooting this, he was showing some before and after cleaning pictures on his phone. It is coming along nicely.

Rooftop garden in Sunset Park?

Say what? Yes! According to the City Farmer News, Sunset Park will soon have the largest one in the WORLD. This is great news- talk about buying local.
