What you see in Sunset Park, Brooklyn: Down By the Tracks

down by the tracks, originally uploaded by jillysp.
This picture reminds me of an old video (back when MTV was showing them) Sabotage, by the Brooklyn born Beastie Boys.

Shot on 2nd ave and 39th street by Costo and across from the strip joint.

"mucho macho"

Hey Ladies!... and gents: are you a Beastie Boys fan? Perhaps you are a Dead Head? Check this out this sound cloud.

Dominican Day Parade

DR-DAY, originally uploaded by veesvision.
So today was the Dominican day parade. I may have missed that tweet but I couldn't ignore the music. My curiosity got the better of me - I followed the sounds. Once I reached the source, on the corner of 45th and 6th ave, I readied my iphone. Everyone was having a great time dancing, drinking and wearing the flag. It was a stoop party.

What I saw in Sunset Park, Brooklyn: Planet Brooklyn

Planet Brooklyn, originally uploaded by veesvision.
56th street and 6th ave

There was a "TV is bad for the brain" thing up for a while. It's too bad I missed the window on shooting that. The good news is, this one is full of color and graphics. I had a lot of fun pushing colors in post production.

What you see in Sunset Park, Brooklyn: RESURRECTION CHURCH

RESURRECTION CHURCH, originally uploaded by how_long_it_takes.
Where in the heck world is that ? !

I know, I know. It looks so out of place against the 99 cent stores and ice cream carts but this is a real building with a real yard and real grass. Wanna see? Take a walk around 41st between 7th and 8th avenues.

Shot by  how long it takes. Take a look at their Flickr page if you are familiar with the 5 boroughs. Try to guess where the other picture places are.
