Sun, Snow, and Smiles in Sunset

One of the best things about this area of Brooklyn is the view.  When the above image is at it’s full size, one can see the Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, and the empty space where the Twin Towers once stood.
The other great thing is the steep hill. Sunset Park boasts that they have the highest point in Brooklyn. Sledding here is a little secret that is just now starting to gain popularity (I saw a listing of great locations to sled on NY1, SSPK was actually listed). After living here for over 10 years, this winter was the first time I experienced it. I didn't know what I was missing!  Believe it or not, it was like the few of us taking advantage of the opportunity had the park slopes to ourselves. We all had enough space to climb and crash.
